Marram Wines is proud to introduce wines produced in Napa, to benefit the Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. Initiative, in support of Alzheimer's research. The wines were made by the great winemaker Rudy Zuidema from Rapp Ranch Cellars in Napa Valley, and will be available in the the Calgary market in early April.
The white wine is 100% Napa Chardonnay and the Red is a blend of Napa Merlot, Cab, Malbec and Cab Franc. Both wines will be exclusively available in the Crowfoot Liquor Store chain.
We urge you to purchase a bottle or two in support of Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. Five dollars from each bottle sold will go to the Gordie Howe Center for Alzheimer's Research and Education Society (C.A.R.E.S.).
GORDIE HOWE – 2015 Napa Valley Chardonnay
This 100% Chardonnay comes from the rocky rolling hills in the Coombsville AVA of Napa Valley. This region benefits from cool evening breezes off of the San Pablo Bay that lengthen the grape growing season and allow slow, comfortable ripening.
The wine has beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, mint, apricot, and luscious creamy French oak. The mid-palate flavors of Asian apple pear, maple, and white nectarines are juicy with a viscous refreshing texture. The finish is fresh and has a clean mouth feel. It leaves the with crisp focused acidity.
GORDIE HOWE – 2013 Napa Valley Red Wine
This lovey red wine blend is a great representative of the 2013 vintage and how Bordeaux varieties are expressed in Napa Valley. A blend of four noble grapes: 68% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, and 6% Cabernet Franc. Each of these grapes brings a significant attribute to the final assemblage. Merlot is the rich pure fruits of raspberry, blueberry and black cherry. Cabernet is the cedar, currant, and tannin structure. Malbec and Cab Franc lift aromatics and offer the darker tones of coffee, mocha, and fresh earth.
